Eversheds Sutherland Russia is delighted to announce the arrival of Alexey Bardin as the new Head of our Russian Energy & Infrastructure practice.
Having worked for 22 years at Shell and in International Law firms, Alexey has been involved in some of the most important oil and gas projects since the fall of the Soviet Union. Alexey was also Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Petroleum Advisory Forum for 10 years. He was in charge of cooperation with Russian governmental authorities and provided effective expert support in the field of Russian subsoil legislation. Alexey possesses specialised knowledge of subsoil law, as indicated by his numerous publications in this field, including the book “The Legal Regulation of Investment Cooperation between Russian and Foreign Companies in the Implementation of Projects for the Development of Mineral Recourses in the Russian Federation”, written with E. Kuvshinov.
Victoria Goldman, Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland Russia, commented: “I am very glad to welcome Alexey to our team. We continue to strengthen our positions on the Russian market as a part of our firm’s growth strategy. Alexey is an outstanding specialist with a wealth of experience and deep understanding of the oil and gas industry. I am certain that Alexey will help us with further development of this practice in our firm, providing our clients with the highest possible quality of legal support.”
Alexey Bardin commented: “I am happy to join Eversheds Sutherland’s team and of course very pleased of the confidence shown in me. I hope that I can contribute to the firm by building on my experience within oil & gas law. We will, together with my new colleagues, no doubt develop successfully this sector inside the firm, and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
