Eversheds comment: Prescription drugs deal a good outcome for UK industry and government alike
- United Kingdom
06-11-2013
Commenting on the UK Department of Health's new scheme designed to reduce presription drug prices, Simon Crossley, pharmaceutical industry expert at global law firm Eversheds, says:
“This new deal represents the end of a period of uncertainty and tough negotiation between the industry and the British Government as national health bodies across Europe seek to reduce the public cost of health provision amid continuing economic difficulties and austerity.
"The new PPRS should represent a good outcome for both stakeholders with the government securing savings to the UK’s drugs bill and the pharmaceutical industry avoiding the prospect of an enforced regime had agreement not been reached."
