Training event on “Distribution Agreements: Polish and International Practice”
A training event entitled “Distribution Agreements: Polish and International Practice,” will be held on 24–25 September 2012 at the Hotel Mercure Grand in Warsaw. The event is organized by NowoczesnaFirma.pl.
During the two-day event, participants will learn about:
- How to select the right distribution system
- What are the new legal options and restrictions in online distribution
- What guidelines are followed by the Polish competition authority when imposing penalties on businesses
- When do promotional initiatives become anti-competitive distribution practices
- Whether division of the market is permissible in distribution agreements.
Our law firm will be represented at the event by Małgorzata Modzelewska de Raad, an attorney at law with over 10 years’ experience who heads the firm’s Competition Law and Litigation teams. During her presentation, entitled “Price Practices Restricting Competition in Distribution: Case Law and Commercial Practice,” she will discuss the following issues:
- Typical practice—resale prices, examples of formulas used in commerce
- Price transparency at various levels of trade—pro competitive and anti-competitive
- Differentiation in price terms for different buyers
- Promotions organized by the manufacturer—when promotional initiatives become a practice.
