Practice notes

Dr. Danguole Hackel is Counsel in the Company Commercial practice group in our Hamburg and Munich offices. She is active member of Nordic/Baltic Business Group.

She advises German/foreign companies on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and W&I insurance issues. Her work includes matters concerning international market entries and exits, corporate and commercial law, as well as corporate compliance issues.

Danguole holds a law degree from the University of Constance as well as an international law master's law degree (LL.M.). In addition, she holds a Lithuanian law degree from the University of Vilnius and completed postgraduate studies at the University of Munich (Dr. jur.). She worked as a research fellow at the University for six years. Prior joining Eversheds Sutherland, Danguole worked in other well-known international law firms in Munich, Moscow and Hamburg.

Danguole is a native speaker in German and Lithuanian. She is fluent in English and Russian and has basic skills in Polish.

Danguole is a visiting lecturer and Head of the Module "Legal, Compliance and Business Ethics" at the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA).

Danguole's recent experience includes advising:

  • Knorr-Bremse on strategic investment in Israeli technology start-up RailVision
  • Hörmann Industries with indirect interest in euromicron AG via subsidiary Funkwerk AG
  • Rostselmash Combain Plant LLC entering German market
  • Foreign companies, in particular from the Nordic / Baltic Region and Eastern Europe, on their market entries in Germany
  • The Hut Group acquiring online cosmetic retailer Glossybox from Rocket Internet und Kinnevikan
  • Sole shareholder Mr. Zabel selling in Zabel Property AG to Jones Lang LaSalle ("JLL")
  • International listed company from the mining sector within the framework of a global internal investigation
  • Norsk Hydro selling Hydro Aluminium Gießerei Hannover
  • Insurance companies on risk assessments in connection with W&I insurances for cross-border M&A transactions
